Seen Better Days by Jeff Burton captures a once useful barn which has fallen on hard times and succumb to the ravages of the weather. The sides of the barn barely hold what is left of the roof off the ground while vegetation and trees slowly encompass the interior.
The Road Home by Jeff Burton. A lonely gravel road heads off into the distance past farmland and barns to an unknown destination that represents home to the weary traveler. The monochrome look and feel of this image enhances the almost desolate feeling brought to life in this photograph.

"The road home takes many forms and many paths but it is the most precious journey as it reminds us of from where we came."
Quiver School by Jeff Burton captures the degeneration of an old school building outside Havana, Illinois that once housed scores of children. The cold winter’s day and overcast skies create an atmosphere of desolation and solitude surrounding the old school. The school established in 1917, was one of the last one-room schools in operation before it closed.
Hobo Highway by Jeff Burton illustrates the long and lonely stretch of highway a hobo might encounter on his travels. The rail track extending to a seemingly endless point in the distance seems to make one feel this journey has no end. The cold and desolate surroundings are not inviting nor do they make the journey a pleasant one. However, the details on the distant horizon indicate that change is coming if only we stay on the path and continue the journey.

"Most people stay in on a cold, foggy, and dreary day. Not me, I grab the camera and head out to get some cold, foggy, dreary landscape shots. Be careful kneeling in the middle of the railroad tracks as this attracts a lot of attention. One helpful fellow in a pickup truck stopped to ask me if I needed help when he saw me kneeling on the tracks to get this image."
Homestead by Jeff Burton captures a cold, dreary day on a farm in the Midwest. The light fallen snow forms rich textures throughout the fields while the barn sits idle waiting for the activity of summer. The homestead in the background looks weather beaten and worn but provides the family with a respite from the winter weather. Homestead is an ideal print for anyone who grew up on a farm and remembers the long cold winters.
Route 91 Barn by Jeff Burton captures iconic Midwest barn surrounded by a just harvested corn field. The monochrome tones in the image accentuate the texture in the corn field created by the late afternoon sun. The barn in the distance stands quite after the busy harvest season has concluded.

"Everyone who lives in my neighborhood knows the barn on Route 91. It practically has icon status. I waited until the corn crop had just been harvested and walked out into the field to get this image of the barn at sunset."
