The second in a series on Islamic thinkers for young readers, is a short, illustrated biography of the Central Asian polymath Ibn Sina (980–1037 CE), known to medieval Europe as Avicenna. The brief, for a full book design making use of a wide variety of photographs and reproductions supplied, included a number of original maps, as well as geometric decoration in keeping with the Islamic context.
