About the Work
WOW was responsible for planning and designing the "Reflective tree," a Christmas tree installed at the entrance of Roppongi Hills West Walk.
The approximately 7-meter-high tree consists of a 10-layered trunk, about 500 branches, and around 2,700 leaves made of mirrored materials. As each layer rotates, sometimes simultaneously and sometimes alternately, leaves catching the colored lighting reflect and diffuse the light, creating various shimmering effects.
The twinkling of the tree itself and the multiple layers of illuminated foliage light up the space, creating a magical atmosphere unique to the Christmas season that can be enjoyed day and night.
