Well this was such a fun experience, my first ever participation in the DWR (Design Within Reach) Champagne Chair Contest.
My inspiration for the sustainability category was the MG501 Cuba Lounge Chair. I decided mock the paper cord webbing using recycled dental floss (dental floss is manufactured from polymeric materials such nylon or PTFE). My little prototype made it to the finalists and travelled to New York for review.

Materials used: two champagne corks, two cages, foil, recycled dental floss and some glue

I wonder if recycled commercial fishing nets (nylon) could be utilized in the manufacturing of real size lounge chair webbing?
