Jardin des plantes de Nantes — Branding

JARDIN DES PLANTES DE NANTES
Branding — Typography — Print — Digital

The garden of the plants of Nantes is a public place, with free access, of exposures accomodating works known as human, of contemporary art, perennial: the works of Claude Ponti and Jean Jullien and works known as alive works in constant evolution: the plants / alive species. It’s committed to the conception of an art in connection with the living. The request was to consider the work of visual communication as a gesture of graphic art, a visual production both functional and artistic.

I imagined the visual identity as a growing typography, following the seasons and the plants of the garden and moving perpetually with nature's cycle. Four typography were created for the four seasons, more or less blooming according to the season, starting with the spring. The colors are inspired by the garden itself, taken from plants or signage of the place. The identity takes place between the plants and the works of art, evolving in this graphic universe that is nature.
