Digital fashion design in CLO3d
During the project "Design Studio" in my second year
at AMFI we had to design for The North Face.
In this collaboration I design both physical and digital.
The North Face brand has a passion for exploring
and innovation, it is because of this that I wanted to design
an innovative coat for the brand using CLO3d.
The start
I start with a base pattern, in this case it was a
base pattern of a jacket. I edit, reshape and cut the
patterns into the shape I want and then begin to
draw and add all the missing pattern pieces.
The details
After I have all the patterns that I need and
the whole jacket is contracted well I can move
on to the next stage and work on the details.
In this stage I will add all the trimmings, the logo's,
the print and the different texture layers of the fabric.
When all the details are finished I move on to the
rendering stage.
The rendering stage
In this stage the design will come to life.
The texture of the fabric, the trimmings and
the movement of the fabric will all very real
and will give you the look of an actual garment.
