PROJECT IN PAIR 

Today, the prison system is experiencing overcrowding, which creates a difficult environment for inmates on a daily basis: they can end up in cells with 3 or 4 other inmates, knowing that they spend 23 hours out of 24 in their cell. The challenge is great and inmates really need a more intimate space.

COCON is an object composed of several interchangeable and customizable modules that can be placed within the cell to provide a space for privacy and comfort. COCON is a reassuring and comforting bubble that will allow the inmate to read more comfortably. The inmate can also place photos, letters, or any other item that could bring a feeling of serenity and comfort.
