PSA Distracted Driving Poster Campaign

For this project through BYU-I, I was asked to make a group of three PSA posters for a client based on a subject I had researched. First, I researched the topic I wanted to make a poster about, distracted driving. This research also included looking at work that was previously done before
Each of these examples gave me an idea of what had been done, and inspired me further.
Since I had researched and gathered some example images, I knew where to go with some thumbnail designs. I picked my two favorite directions that I wanted to go and started sketching.
These were my first attempt, but I found I didn't like the angles I took the pictures from, and the design I had originally thought of was not coming through.
The idea I had for these posters was thinking of people in jobs that you wouldn't want to have distracted. I wanted to especially think of jobs that were particularly dangerous to be distracted, like a doctor, chef, and hair care specialist.  I ended up liking the concept more than the one above and decided to take it forward.
This was the first round of edits. I used family members as models and dressed them up like the specific role I wanted, then also had them pretend to be driving in a car. I liked this direction, but I felt it was missing some originality and pop.
This was the next attempt to put some of my own creative flair into it. This design is eye-catching, but as my husband pointed out to me and I personally felt, it was a bit too 80s and/or distracting from the message.
I had an epiphany at the end of this project and decided to work with the images in a different way and in an organization that highlights different parts of my message without making my viewers try to look at everything all at once. I wanted to emphasize some of the top three ways that people distractedly drive: by talking on the phone, texting, and looking at their social media pages.
