Colour and Voice- Inner Sanctum

Inner Sanctum is a collection that is a reflection of my own personal style, deep emotional journey and represents protection of self in various forms. To bring this concept to life, I started by finding famous paintings that illustrated protection and changed many of the colours through photoshop to be some of my favourite colours. Deep reds, pinks, purples and ivory, in which are all comforting, brave and powerful hues.
After this I created a few hand drawn images that were personal to me, and then put them into abode illustrator to cut them out to have a sticker like affect. That way I could overlap the images and place them into the moldboard.
I then used some of these images to make a moldboard about my concept. focusing on the protection of the body through the rips, spine and scull. Protection within love with various hearts, lockets and keys. Lastly, protection of beliefs and self through gradian angels and wings.
I then started the creative process of drawing out ideas! I ended up really like two of my designs. The first representing angels, and love by showcasing an embroidered angel in the centre of the corset. Including gems, ruffles, and colours of reds, ivory and pink. I then created the technical with the help of YouTube videos-

The second look, rooted from protection of self through the body is a full knit dress that has an embroidered spine in the centre of the front and back. Looking into the garment, it also has little x's around each change of colour with switching to another knit. To show the knit I also found a image and photoshopped it to be a light pink.
Lastly I wanted to create the tights pattern from the first look and add a cool 3D element to the design because they are gems. I did some research and found this YouTube video which helped me create this effect.

Through this mini collection, I hope to inspire a sense of strength and resilience in those who have experienced the need for self protection, and to convey the power of emotional connection and love. In the end, Inner Sanctum reflects fashion's abilities to transform and convey deeply personal and meaningful experiences true to myself and others around the world.
