NAMI Mental Health Project - Aerophobia

Project: NAMI Mental Health Poster

This project was meant as a hypothetical marketing piece for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI). NAMI provides advocacy and education for mental illnesses.

We began this project by researching NAMI, its services, mental illnesses and what stigmas are. Each student was then tasked with creating an impactful, informative poster to increase the general public’s awareness and knowledge of mental illnesses, and change mental health stigmas. The design should promote an end goal of improved personal welfare and improved welfare of society. To get people to seek help and to no longer be inhibited or controlled by the stigmas associated with mental illness.

For this project I chose to base my design on Aerophobia, which is an extreme fear of flying. It's said that people with aerophobia might feel intense anxiety before or during a flight. This condition can interfere with your ability to travel for work or pleasure.
