Typography Hierarchy

Typography Project
For this project, I designed typography covers that had the same content, but with various limitations. They included:
One size one weight
One size two weights
Two sizes one weight
Two sizes two weights
Any size any weight with rules and shapes

First variations
One size one weight:
For the first cover, I worked with the content using only one size and one weight. With these design constraints I had to work mainly with caps and spacing to separate each section and to add some order.
One size two weights:
With two weights allowed to be used now, there was a little more flexibility in designing the hierarchy. Spacing was still a major aspect of setting it, as the type was still constrained to one size. I tried to compose these designs differently than the previous ones to add variety while still trying to make it feel like a whole piece.
Two sizes one weight
With any two sizes being able to used, there were a lot of possibilities that could be done. I really tried to focus on making a good focal point with the sizing, in addition to the negative space and orderly manner of the rest of the type.
Two sizes two weights:
Many more design possibilities opened up, which caused me to think a lot more about how I wanted to compose these covers. I tried to go for strong alignment in them to create a sense of unity. With more size and weight options I was now able to create subheads, which added more levels of hierarchy. I also experimented with repetition in these cover designs.
Any size, any weight with rules and shapes:
For this design there was a lot of creativity that could go into it. I mostly played with the rules to try and create an interesting relationship with the rest of the type content. Even though any weight and size could be used, I still tried to keep the content somewhat consistent so that the design didn't steer away from being unified.
