These Images are my representation and interpretation of the Seven Deadly Sins. The format in which i chose to represent these is through collage and the images in which are posted here are scans of those collages. Each collage was created with images found through google with words and art styles i associate with each sin.
this is the cover and back cover of the tabloid. to create these images i used the materials that i chose for the project, such as paper, string, and scanning techniques to create a compelling cover.
simple as it is, this spread is showing explaining the concept and parameters of this tabloid
first: the sin of lust, or the sin of desire and a stem of greed. as this is not the material but the belief in ownership in another's sexual devices.
second: the sin of gluttony. the sin that forgoes the importance of those around you to over indulge on foods.
third: the sin of greed. this sin in my eyes is the over indulgence on all material items. similar to gluttony, this sin forgoes those in need for selfish gain.
fourth: the sin of sloth. while others may deem this the sin of laziness, i deem it the sin of sadness or the inability to grasp the passage of time around oneself.
fifth: the sin of wrath. to me, this sin is hatred, destruction, and the damage ones words, actions, and thoughts can cause on those around oneself.
sixth: the sin of envy. envy is a hard sin to define. to me, to be envious of another is to believe in self improvement. to aknowledge your own shortcomings. however, when you lose yourself and your identity, i believe you fall into the sin in which can cause harm and danger to others.
seventh: the gastly sin of pride. the sin that is the root of all evil. to believe yourself be worth more value than another or to boast of your own self worth. some may go as far as to indulge in appearance, or quite literally "kiss" themself.
