It was a cold yet sunny summer morning. I was waking up and walking through the creaky old cabin to go sit on the patio. The smell from the pine trees was everywhere, and the light was shining, making a broken pattern on the floor. I heard the woodpeckers pecking and the blue jays chirping. What a wonderful morning, I thought. I pulled out my sketch pad and started drawing the trees around me. I saw squirrels and birds going from tree to tree, trying to find some food. So, I thought to myself, Maybe I should get some breakfast too. I set my sketchbook on the table and went into the kitchen. The tile was cold and was making me shiver. I continued, walking to the fridge to grab some eggs. Then, out of nowhere, the sliding wood door opened, and a young girl, around six years old, walked into the room. She had long, blond hair; big blue eyes; and pale, white skin with freckles scattered across her nose. "Hello, Ava. What would you like for breakfast?" I said, picking her up.
She responded, "I want Captain Crunch."
I looked at her and asked, "Ava, would your mom let you have Captain Crunch for breakfast?"
 "No."
“Then how about a muffin? Do you want me to heat one up for you?"
“Yes, please,” she said as I was putting her down.
I heated Ava and me a muffin and gave it to her to eat. By the time I finished eating my muffin, the adults had come walking in and talking about whatever they were discussing. After Ava’s mom thanked me for giving Ava breakfast, I ran back to the room that I was staying in and got ready for the lake. We were going to walk down there in the afternoon. I put on my colorful swimsuit. It was hot pink, white, and had different shades of blue with patterns of hibiscus flowers and palm trees on it. I walked back outside to my sketchbook, and I continued drawing the trees until everyone was ready. Around noon everyone finished getting ready; we packed our bags with sunscreen, towels, snacks, water bottles, and everything else needed for a fun day at the lake. My fun day had officially begun in Lake Arrowhead at the Ward Family Cabin and Dock.
