I was tasked with creating a series of Crested Gecko designs using a number of different styles. Each design is surrounded by a rounded diamond shape, which is to reflect the general shape of the animal's head, as well as showcase that the crests of the Crested Gecko are actually soft to the touch, despite their rough looking appearance. 

The first design I made was a graphic, intended to be detailed and craft a clear image of the animal in question.

The second design I created would be the silhouette. It is less detailed, but still comes across as clearly the gecko. For this design, I made it a gradient with a vibrant orange and red, reflecting the bright colors which many Crested Geckos possess.

For the third design, I used a pattern to showcase the foliage that this species lives in, mainly leaves and trees, as they are an arboreal gecko. 

For the fourth design, I utilized the Golden Ratio to create a simplified form of a gecko. I once again used the gradient to give it a pop of color.

For the fifth design, I created a loose freeform version of the gecko.

For the sixth design, I was tasked with making a description which would reflect the mannerisms of the Crested Gecko. To do this, I applied the color that I have used throughout the other designs as well as tilting the font to the side to resemble the Gecko's ability to climb vertical surfaces. The font itself resembles Jurassic Park's iconic font, to make the viewer think of reptiles. 

For the seventh design, I used the name itself and modified it slightly to show off the animal. I only modified the S in Crested to represent the nature of how the Geckos tend to hide away from predators in the foliage and prefer to stay out of sight.

For my final design, I created a gestural image that was to show the bare minimum of the Crested Gecko's form. This was created through using India ink on canvas before uploading the form to Illustrator and changing the background color to one that matched the rest of the colored images.
