University project-  Woven Disguises
“Woven Disguises” is an exploration of Bear Grylls’ struggles with confidence and imposter syndrome throughout his extended career.
Each weave is inspired by a different animal that uses disguise for protection, by the use of colour, materials and textures.
Within the weaves are quotes from an interview podcast with Bear Grylls, where he describes these sruggles in great length.
These weaves were created to show how we often disguise ourselves with a confident exterior, but on the inside, we all have our own insecurities that eventually protrude and consequently, we have to face. These insecurities are our own natural defences and are part of human nature. They’re woven into our DNA.
