Kpop757: Volunteer Designing for Community Impact
I work as the Social Media Manager and am one of two Graphic Designers of Kpop757 as well and focus on creating content that will lead to engagement with our audience and build a thriving community of K-pop fans!
All About That Hallyu Com-On! 2023
All About That Hallyu Com-On! 2023 was an event held in collaboration between us (Kpop757) and the Korean Cultural Center in DC, where we were participants in receiving grant money from the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange to develop and host this event with the goal of spreading Hallyu. The event featured cultural activities, food, an interactive VR experience, panels, and live performances.
My focus with designing and creating marketing materials for this event was so create something that was eye catching, bold, and colorful, as these things encapsulate K-pop, a large focus of the event. Materials for the event included social media materials, signage, event advertisements and outreach, and a rough copy design for a brochure for print.
K-pop-Up!
K-pop-Up! is an event series where we bring a free day of K-pop fun to the local community with performances, vendors, crafts, and interactive games. We partner with local community centers, such as libraries, to help us host these fun and family-friendly events and keep them accessible to as many people as possible.
The theme for this K-pop-Up! was Spring, and I wanted to encapsulate that with a soft yet saturated color palette with purples, greens, and blues as primary features. I worked on the event design and marketing materials as well as the social media schedule for these promotions, with these as some of my designs for the event below.
