भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि [Bhargo Devasya Dhiimahi]

Gayatri Mantra

Meaning:
1: Om, Pervading the Bhu Loka (Earth, Consciousness of the Physical Plane), Bhuvar Loka (Antariksha, The Intermediate Space, Consciousness of Prana) and Swar Loka (Sky, Heaven, Consciousness of the Divine Mind),
2: That Savitur (Savitri, Divine Essence of the Sun) which is the most Adorable,
3: I Meditate on that Divine Effulgence,
4: May that Awaken our Spiritual Intelligence (Spiritual Consciousness).
My latest project came to life as a unique knife painting commission, bearing familial significance. A regular patron brought forth a cherished family heirloom – a knife passed down through the male lineage – seeking to infuse it with an artistic touch.
Drawing upon sacred wisdom, I decided to incorporate the great Gayatri Mantra into the design. In its Sanskrit glory, this timeless verse transcends linguistic boundaries, its spiritual potency resonating in every stroke of my brush.
The English translation underscores the universal message of the mantra. It aligns seamlessly with the intention behind this project: a heartfelt wish to bless my client's family and imbue the knife with a spirit of non-violence and rejection of cruelty.
Through art, I sought to transform a simple tool into a symbol of blessing, weaving an ancient mantra into its handle to create a unique fusion of tradition, spirituality, and aesthetics.
This is more than a knife; it is a family legacy.
