Buy Nothing Day 2014

This set of posters (and flyer) were designed for the promotion of 'Buy Nothing Day'. A day where people are asked to stop consuming for a whole 24hrs in order to detox from today's high spending social structure and reflect on their daily expenditure.
The posters take classic advertisements and use them against themselves. The focus is on classic ads as a means to interfere with current, familiar branding. 
This concept could be applied each year to start a trend of a guerilla ad campaigns — people can take their hand to manipulating consumer slogans that they are surrounded by and promote Buy Nothing Day themselves.
