Patchwork City - Fabric Architecture

Patchwork City
Fabric Architecture

Within the heart of Manila City exists an architectural DNA for its people known as a fabric building. This building was inspired by the initial concept of Taft and the Burnham Plan, Patchwork City. The importance of the urban planning concept was to have Manila's residents be closer to different activities creating by architecture. The reason for this was to reduce carbon emissions of transportation and utilities. To achieve this concept, the residential experience, being the DNA of the concept, requires a transition towards mixed-use development. Hence, designing a residential typology that has inclusions of recreation, commercial, and practical purposes.
