Guardians of the Galaxy
Poster Posse Project #9
For the 9th round with the Poster Posse, curated through Blurppy, we tackled Marvel's space epic comic book movie 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. Dubbed as the 'Avengers in Space' the movie has a very humouress and lighthearted feel to it. I veered away from illustrating the main characters as I knew my Posse counterparts were much more skilled at drawing characters than I could, I went in a more conceptual route. The fate of the planet Zandar is in the hands of whomever seizes control of the orb, which is believed to be an Infinity Gem holding immense power to whoever controls it. The main bad guy is Ronan the Accuser played by Lee Pace and it is his character (or really his hand) that is featured in this poster, reaching for the orb which holds the fate of the planet.
