Chimera Project, December 2022

Medium: Colored Pencil

My chimera project! This was the final project for one of my illustration classes. An original chimera is a female monster with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail. We had to create our own chimera, and have at least 3 different animals in ours. I decided to use 7 different animals, being an eagle for the legs and main head, horse for the body, turtle for the shell scales, scorpion for the tail, snake for the second and third head, peacock for the feathers on the heads, and a pegasus for the wings. This was a large scale project, with the required dimensions being two 18"x24" sheets of paper, arranged in any way we'd like. This was very time consuming but very fun as I had never used colored pencil on something this big before, and it was worth it!
