Biophilic design, the art of bringing nature into our living spaces, has a profound impact on our well-being and the environment. My triptych of poster designs seeks to explore the essence of biophilic design through three distinct visual approaches: Editorial Photography, Symbolic Representation, and Truth to Materials Collage. Each design showcases a unique aspect of biophilia, highlighting its significance in our lives while encouraging sustainable practices and a deep connection with nature.
Inspired by the principles of "truth to materials," "Visual Living" is a captivating mixed media collage that celebrates natural and sustainable building materials. The collage highlights the beauty and integrity of natural and manmade materials. The composition reflects the diverse textures and patterns found in nature, with each element interwoven to create a harmonious whole. "Visual Living" serves as a reminder of the need to use sustainable materials and adopt sustainable practices in design and construction.
In this poster, I aim to capture the intrinsic beauty of nature and its integration into contemporary living spaces. By curating compelling imagery that works harmoniously, "Nature's Embrace" communicates the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature. The use of natural light, warm tones, and organic textures accentuates the calming and rejuvenating effect of biophilic elements within our environments. "Elements of Biophilia" delves into the symbolic realm, portraying a set of symbols that represent different aspects of biophilic design. I have meticulously curated a collection of symbols, such as leaves, water droplets, paw prints, and tree rings, each embodying a specific element of the biophilic concept. By arranging these symbols in an aesthetically pleasing manner, the design captures the diversity and interconnectedness of biophilia. The poster aims to instill a sense of wonder and curiosity about nature's wonders while encouraging viewers to seek harmony with the environment in their creative endeavors.
