Scholastic Storyworks 3
Cover art for the May/June issue of Scholastic’s magazine, Storyworks 3. I worked closely with the art director to deliver three sketches that reflected my ideas for the cover - every cover art for Storyworks features books or reading in some shape or form, so you'll find books in all of the following idea sketches. The team over at Scholastic voted on this surfing illustration which was inspired by my background in Hawaii. Painting this was an absolute joy! Many of the extra flourishes and color choices were spontaneous and it was one of the most enjoyable projects I've worked on. I also absolutely loved working with my art director and the whole project ran smoothly thanks to an amazing team!
