The Spooky Chibi Curse

The Chibi Curse
In Dandara's first encounter with the dreadful humanoid curse, she came face to face with an unusual figure: a child. This bewildered her. It's surprising because, despite being a relatively young curse, this creature has already absorbed human behavior, understanding how to act to lure the protagonist into its trap. The curse took on the form of a child. The creature imagined that Dandara wouldn't abandon an innocent amidst the destruction, keeping her trapped in the building.
The humanoid creature is a shapeshifting being, capable of changing form at will. This is how it transformed into a child. Even as a child, it remained terrifying.

Inspired by the style of manga or anime drawings known as chibis, I decided to use this style to create the child version of the curse. Chibi is a Japanese term that depicts characters with big heads, small bodies, and huge eyes, giving them an adorable and comical appearance. This style is commonly used to represent childlike or infantilized characters.

It was the first time I ventured into creating a character like this, and I chose one of my villains for this role. It was an enjoyable experience and, surprisingly, easy to accomplish. I used references to create the expression I was looking for, and the absence of clothing made the drawing even simpler.

Now, thinking about the background, Dandara encountered the curse on the staircases, where the darkness almost prevented her from recognizing the true nature of the creature.
To create the necessary setting for this illustration, I drew inspiration from various building staircases. These structures already carry a sinister aura by nature, which is intensified in the shadowy environment.

The result of the illustration turned out surprisingly adorable and simultaneously eerie. I loved the experience of bringing a character to life in chibi form and incorporating a dark touch to this "innocence." I hope you enjoy this blend of enchantment and terror!

Hehehe
See you next time.
