Medieval Video Game - Sound Design (2021)

I was tasked with creating copyright-free interactive audio for a level of a video game. The primary goal of the project was to develop a portfolio piece that showcased my proficiency in sound design and audio programming for video games. To achieve this, I utilized tools like Wwise to craft the audio assets. These assets were seamlessly integrated into the game world by associating them with characters, animations, objects, and various events within the game scene.
The Unity game engine, along with the C# programming language, played a pivotal role in achieving this integration. Through scripting in C#, I attached the audio assets to the appropriate elements within the game scene. This enabled dynamic and interactive audio responses based on in-game actions and events, enhancing the overall player experience.
As part of this project, I was also responsible for compiling thorough technical documentation. These notes provided a comprehensive overview of the technical aspects of the project, detailing the techniques used for sound design, audio asset integration, and any custom audio programming implemented. Additionally, I performed a comprehensive evaluation of the project, highlighting its strengths, innovations, and areas for potential improvement.
The selection of the game level for this endeavor was open-ended, as long as the chosen game engine supported open access and could be tailored using the Unity game editor. This project presented an exciting opportunity to not only demonstrate my capabilities but also to push the boundaries of interactive audio in video games.
