VISUAL IDENTITY FOR AFRIDIRE

Afridire is a Women’s wear fashion brand. The name is a combination of "Africa" and "Adire," with "Adire" being a traditional Nigerian fabric dyeing technique that involves hand-painting or stamping patterns onto cotton cloth using a cassava starch resist.
The name Afridire conveys a sense of rich cultural legacy, authenticity, and pride.

The task was to create a distinctive and effective visual identity for Afridire communicating a feeling of cultural heritage, genuineness, and a profound sense of pride.

Through this journey, I have developed a remarkable approach that places a premium on the courage, individuality, and self-expression of women. This approach involves capturing the spirited and dynamic energy, as well as the vibrant heartbeat that beats within the African soul.
This tribal-inspired wordmark captures the essence of African culture, exuding boldness, energy, and a strong sense of confidence that resonates throughout the brand. It embraces the vibrant spirit of African traditions, creating a visual representation that is both powerful and captivating
The inspiration for the logomark stems from the notion that embracing Afridire goes beyond just putting on clothes; it's about cocooning oneself in a sense of comfort, security, and lavishness. It mirrors the symbolism of the Maasai shield, embodying both safeguarding and indulgence.
