During this project, I was tasked with creating several visualizations of adjectives and actions using lines, circles, or type. We were asked to develop many thumbnail sketches, followed by developing clean digital art within Adobe Illustrator. Succeeding the original Adobe Illustrator work, we continued creating gifs utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.​​​​​​​

One of my main goals all the way through this project was to keep my designs playful but clean. I wanted crisp lines/patterns but also spirited finishings. An additional goal is I wanted to push my creativity and come up with out-of-the-box ideas.​​​​​​​

Part of my ideation process was I looked up each prompt and reviewed the definitions, synonyms, and generic images that came up with the search. From there, I began doing sketches based on what images I saw playing through my mind while thinking about each word and its possible meanings. I did not always use a literal meaning or depiction of the prompts while making sketches.​​​​​​​

While choosing which of my sketches I would continue with, I eliminated sketches that I was not enjoying or felt could have been more successful. Next, I went through two rounds of selecting the sketches that were my favorite from the rest of the bunch. I took the sketches that made it through all the pruning and created them within a digital space using Adobe Illustrator. If I still felt like the idea was successful and enjoyed how it looked, I kept it.
