Vanana is an arts and crafts hobby turned into a personal start-up brand, 
showcasing the value of design and craftmanship - the passion, time, skills, and dedication 
in creating such pieces. Vanana aims to become an outlet for personal expression and to help 
portray that arts should be free and boundless by the norms and standards of society.

Strategy
Vanana was long due in the owner's mind. Since she started her first business way back 
before pandemic, 'macrame' designs as floral and decorations for various homes and events, she intended to expand her arts and crafts creations by adding crocheted apparel. This time it was under a new name 
and a clear vision for her personal brand. The goal and challenge is to translate all her messages and sentiments through visuals, making it a channel of personal expression that the community could relate to, 
together with the aspiration to recognize the value of handcraft and artisan pieces.

Vanana aims to empower local handcrafts in today's mainstream scene of arts, by showing the significance 
of creating something tangible from one's weird and unique-self using the power of hands, 
giving a rewarding and enriching experience that nurtures your well-being.



Vanana's brand name is derived from the owner's name and was used to tease her when she was young, now that she's older, she decided to use the name to empower herself.


The logo is a testament to the main attributes of the Vanana; Eccentric - Young & Free - Visionary. All these is translated in the simplest logo mark of the (Letter) V + Banana, bringing a vibrant, creative, and relatable visual representation.



Concept & Design
The starting point of the visual creation was the phrases taken during the first phase discovery call:
 personal expressions, the value of handcrafting, and non-conforming. These messages aspire to achieve and translate through the look and feel of the brand in contemporary times. As the brand name Vanana was definite, in the next phase which includes rigorous research and exploration, the brand name itself was 
an excellent blueprint for the brand's vision, as it brings a vibrant, creative, and relatable tone that is easy to pronounce, understand, and especially appreciate. The name also sets the big reasons behind the brand, conveying the message of "Banana with a Vision".

Vanana is dedicated to spreading the notion of freedom and boundness through personal stuff. 
Besides being a piece in the entire wardrobe, it will also bring a statement of self-love and 
embracing your journey - through ups and downs, creatively and chaotic.
