A drawtober illustration.
Drawtober is an online event for illustrator to come together and express their ideas, following predetermined prompts to incite an art project. It appeared as a response to a former challenge of the same nature with a not-so-friendly treatment towards the partakers.
my illustration took a lot of inspiration from Coraline's movie, the 80's adventure movie, and narratives present in my childhood (which took place in the 90's). Even though we are celebrating the season of threats and fright, I believe death to be a subject in need of a lighter portrayal, a taboo to be surpassed.

I used a mixture of watercolor and colored pencils to create a smooth base and textured details. This was an enjoyable process and made me very proud of my accomplishment.
