"noira" isn't just about the color black... In every soul, there exist hidden corners of darkness, the origin of pain. Anger, fear, and wounds form unknowingly. That subtle pain resides like toxic seeds, eventually taking root, growing, corroding, and spreading from one soul to another. "noira" exposes the depths of shattered souls' darkness to light, allowing us to confront our pain and engage in self-dialogue.

The piece narrates Thanh's story, a young cancer-stricken woman. Beyond the illness, she had to part from Kawakei, a handicapped architect in Tokyo, a more painful separation due to the COVID pandemic, taking away her father and her chance to bid him farewell. Desperation consumes her as even her loyal dog abandons her in the most agonizing ending.

NOIRA - nói ra is described as an emotional landscape, with twisted faces expressing pain and tears. That darkness spreads to every nook, infecting the world of life. Each face in the painting represents a distinct existence, some crucial, some fleeting. Amid their darkness, glimmers of belief, hope, and small joys persist. These threads hold us, through pain and despair, urging us to endure.

In 2023, Thanh continues to live. Her wounds will heal gradually, through NÓI RA (SPEAK OUT)
