Collaborated with Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) for a book on their programme called CAMP GOAL. DEF is a nonprofit organization working towards empowering people making technology easily accessible to the masses, to empower women, youth, persons with disabilities and the elderly through providing functional digital literacy, media literacy, and digital up-skilling across agriculture, micro and nano-business, health, education, livelihood, and entrepreneurial skills.

GOAL is a programme by DEF that endeavours to provide digital education in rural and tribal communities where women are deprived of any opportunities. The programme started with the partnership between Digital Empowerment Foundation and Facebook, to empower young girls from rural and tribal communities by connecting them with inspirational women from urban parts of the country. The program helps enable these girls to gain exposure and access to digital tools and learn about its uses and the latest technology innovations that are happening around the world. Part of the overarching GOAL program, CAMP (Community Advocates and Mentorship Program) is a new initiative launched by DEF in collaboration with the U.S. India Policy Institute (USIPI). CAMP is designed to address the digital divide in India, empower young women in underserved localities in India, and build the next generation of advocates in the US and India. Through CAMP, young women and girls in both countries will unleash their potential to become leaders of change in their communities, while forging lifelong bonds in the process.

I curated, illustrated, and designed a book, with the aim of keeping the participating women at the center of it. The idea was to understand the socio-cultural background of the mentees and reflect it through the design. For the portraits, I opted for a realistic illustrative style to depict the stories of real women.
Book Cover
I used textured strokes and contemporary patterns to showcase the multicultural bonds that the young women of the two countries were able to build.
The two worlds were brought together perfectly in the program, represented by a combination of modern patterns and hand-drawn portraits.

All the pages were introduced with similar patterns to keep the style seamless.
