LIMERICK JUNCTION - Mixed media prints
Prints made using various techniques from photography, paint to cutouts and photoshop.The concept was based around Limerick Junction train station.The prints were used in conjunction with a short film to capture the desolation & isolation and out of time emotive qualities of the station. The location is devoid of much else but the station and a highly populated nesting ground.
After much research of Limerick Junction and spending so much time exploring the location to becoming a part of it. I quickly learned Limerick Junction is like a limbo, there is very little but this train stop, and the endless birds due to nesting grounds near by.
During the winter, the trains come in the dark and would often hit a bird on the tracks, so often I would go to the junction to find many dead birds on the tracks.
If this project taught me anything, it is that it rains too much in Ireland, and the train very often is extremely late.
