Spa 24 Hours 1988 Fictional Livery Concept
The Group A era was filled with many production ready cars from countless car brands. The phrase "race on Sunday, sell on Monday" was still a powerful phrase, and were willing and able to met up for the challenge. One of those is Ford, with their need to replace the outgoing Cortina, made the new Sierra. Known cruelly as the 'Jelly Mold', Ford wanted the new car to have a better brand image. Soon, with the help of Cosworth, the legendary Sierra RS500 was born in 1986...
...and this is where this concept comes in. By this point in 1988, the dominant Sierra RS500s were a force to be reckoned with. A champion in the newly-formed WTCC with Eggenberger in 1987, won the BTCC with Andy Rouse in 1986, and in the year 1988, won the Australian, European, and Japanese Touring Car Championship, as well as the DTM with Kaus Ludwig.
Customer cars were of course available at this time, as this one is imagined to be. A team made of of BTCC driver Graham Scarborough, and AJTCC drivers Kiyoshi Misaki and American Jeff Krosnoff. SONY sponsorship litters the car, with the established blank-VHS tapes were set to advertised all around major races, such as the Spa 24 Hours.
