A Trip: Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon National Park is located in Nothern Arizona. It is the 15th National Park to be named in the USA. It is the second most visited National Park in the USA. I, William Alexander Scherzinger, visited the park in 2022.

The park became an official National Park in 1919. The park celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019. Grand Canyon National Park is part of the Grand Staircase.

Grand Canyon National Park is often referred to as a Wonder of the World. The creation of the park was an early success of the conservation movement. Its national park status may have helped thwart proposals to dam the Colorado River within its boundaries. The Grand Canyon, including its extensive system of tributary canyons, is valued for its combination of size, depth, and exposed layers of colorful rocks.
