A pop-up book produced for the ISLE PROJECT, a project that involves collaboration among several universities to consider the ethics of biotechnology together with "islands", "art" and "design".

Intended to create a dialogue about "gene drive," an advanced biotechnological technology, the book expresses the relationship between biotechnology and everyday life, the possibilities and dangers of the technology, and its impact on society, as well as various other issues facing advanced technology.

We devised ways to show the information so that it could be used as material for "interactive viewing," in which viewers discuss the works while looking at them. Working as a team with illustrators and graphic designers, Fushigi Design provided overall direction and graphic design for the text.
