Screen Printing is a medium that I am relatively new in, but I have come to love very much. It allows me to explore various techniques and synthesize my personal style of contrast and color. I also make a habit to challenge myself through limitations or forcing myself to utilize methods I would usually avoid.

The following prints are part of the theme Implied Form; I focused on utilizing color, dimension, and the contrast of positive and negative space to render different objects as both identifiable and difficult to make sense of.  I was extremely particular about the subject matter I chose to pursue; once selected, I then focused on how I could create visual interest. The first layer–which is the background color–is always used as a foundation for the subject, and takes careful part in the imagery as a whole.

As I continued with this theme, I decided to hone in on texture and how it impacts the tone of the desired image. This naturally led me to abstracting my own images through various techniques, while also breaking known rules of the medium.

Another theme I've been exploring is Hiraeth: A Playlist; the Welsh word describes the yearning for a time or place that can’t be returned to, or doesn’t exist. Each print will represent a song that I deeply connect to, and reflects on specific relationships I've experienced. The following prints feature a collage of personal photos, drawings and hand-lettered lyrics from the track. I drew inspiration from poster and infographic designs as well as my own previous work.
