Golden Hour Visions: Jer Thibeault
This is my first photo. We'll Call it " I'm Trying, Man.", as well, this is a photo of my trying to capture the golden hour. From where I am located, its hard to get a good picture of the golden hour, but I do like the sky colours of pink, orange and red. The negative space kinda plays into the colours a lot, and I like it for that. I took these photos on my cell phone, as I am trying to see how well it does, and while it cannot do some things, it does others beautifully,
This is my second photo. We'll call it " As Close as I Got." as this photo is in my opinion, as close as I got to capturing the golden hour. I went out in the middle of the road for this photo, so I could capture more of the left sky, and while the car coming at me might not understand what I was doing, it played its part in the capturing. The negative space is this photo is beautiful, and in the end, that's what I was going for. Again, this was captured with my cell phone. Its super hard to capture pics like this where I live, but i did my best and i think it shows.
This is my third photo. We'll call it " ... And there she goes, people." because well, there she goes, as they say. I snuck this picture in on the road like the last one, with cars coming at me and all, and while this photo is kind of a failure to me, it is kind of a good "last photo" as well, as it shows the golden hour going away for the night. I cant stress enough the use of negative space in these photos. It truly opens up the sky for you to see.
Failure on one hand. Absolutely beautiful on the other hand. Showing the fleeting of the sky into (the) night.
Experience of Capturing the Golden Hour
This was one hell of an assignment, let me tell you. I love photographing instances like this, normally, but the hours were not just adding up for me this week. I did get some good colours in the negative space, but do to the light pollution of the city, they were kinda of muted, but still there enough to show for the assignment. Use of negative space for me was key to show the beauty of the sky at this hour. If I had to do this again, I would pray for much better nights... and my car working to go to the country, or my parents house.
The view from my parents house is stunning at these times and Id really hope to show you that. All in all, it was a good week. Not a great week. A good week.
