Enemy of the People

One of the most hypocritical terms used during the regime. The ones who were called enemies of the people, were in fact the ones who tried to help the people.
Also it has to be said that this term was embraced and eagerly used by the majority of the population against their own.

I have come to realize that same as my family who were once called enemies, I will gladly remain an enemy of these people too.
Torture After Death

In this artwork it is shown how communists buried dead people in concentration camps. They were buried close to the surface with their limbs out so dogs could eat them.
Memorial

At the age of 18 my father’s uncle got shot in the head during an assassination attempt organized for him.
In the name of the People

It seems unimportant but with that expression we can understand whose fault it was.
Every human being living in that time is responsible for what happened.

In the name of the people:

6027 people were executed.
17500 people were imprisoned for political reasons (1065 died in prisons).
20000 families were interned for political reasons, of which 7022 people died in the internment areas.
Monument of Misery

During the internment period in concentration camps my great-grandmother patched her son’s pants with her hair.

The pants are stored and displayed at the National Historical Museum of Albania.
Desecrated by your nation!

Gjergj Fishta was a Franciscan friar, writer, educator and translator. He was also the chairman of the commission for drafting the Albanian alphabet in the Congress of Manastir.
His contribution in literature, diplomacy, politics and culture was unmatched at the time.

Today his grave is empty.
Years after his death Albanian communists desecrated his grave, took his body remains and threw them in the river Drin.
This act shows the true face of our nation.
The letter writer I.Kadare

The most famous Albanian writer and the most worshipped among all the Albanian artists. The reason behind that is a whole nation who tolerates lies and hypocrisy.
We worship an artist who didn’t just tolerate reality, but he used everything that he could for his own benefit.

For everyone that might think why this is important, I truly believe that we should be careful with the people we idolize. Everyone you look up to affects your character and personality so someone like him should not even be considered.
