A restoration design studio with a unique location. The abandoned train station which was functional for both travellers and businesses. At the first stage we were tasked to identify all the issues with the existing storage such as damp, holes, mold, wood rot and more. Site analysis was also an important part of identifing potential users entrances and transportation to and from the station. Complementary we had lectures discussing the ways a correct restoration is done. The design is done in a simple matter to easily differentiate between the existing and the new additions.

We divided the site analysis into 4 different sections. The Religion sites, Shopping, Infrastructure, and Education. Nearby activities and buildings attract multiple potential users that can learn relax and enjoy the afternoon at the old railway station.
Though the existing building shows extensive signs of deterioration on multiple different aspects. We identified each in detail with the goal to restore the materials and give a new life to the existing. The respect of the original materials and the new, as well as to clearly differentiate the new additions is essential.
Details of the structure. The pit that exists for people to go under and inspect the trains as well as the details of the roof and the walls. Understanding the existing will amplify the design process with respect to the historic significance of the building.
The design consists of 6 cuboid structures that occupy different uses as well as two open spaces inside one for a seminar room and another one for the main exhibition. The uses span from office spaces, research spaces , cafe, train association space(club), courtyard, souvenir shop and reception.
