Boucle fabric applique embroidered on top of a print design on natural base fabric.
As part of renovation & relaunch of GM Syntex Studio, handmade artworks were currated & developed with the help of artisans of GM Syntex Design house factory.
The wall arts are more natural, minimal & modern wall art design which would blend & fall perfect for the look & mood of the building is inclined to natural, boho style.
Wall art 2 : the twins
The artwork is Woven fabric, with deliberate unwoven top beam warp left loose.
The fabric is a combination of cotton & space dyed linen yarns. The warp top beam is deliberately left loose & displayed in changed orientation to reflect better fall of the yarns & ribbed texture of warp, slub, ribbed texture are created from the interlocking of cotton warp, weft & linen warp top beam yarns. The 4 sides of the art is frayed to give more natural & raw look.
The art work left unfinished, that the touch & feel of the loose yarns, the fray of the edges are addition to more natural & raw look of to the interiors.
wall art 3 :The broken warp
The jute warp yarns made on a handloom warp drums are separated into 12 sets, are wrapped individually with different kinds of yarns in a play of colours, which resembles the play of levels in audio. The idea is to depict the unbalanced & irregular play of yarns in different shades on the background forms a balance to give a more natural, boho & tribal look.
The art is left unfinished & un-trimmed at the bottom to give itself the essence of rawness.
