Visual identity of childrens section in library

Project Description
The purpose of the project is to deliver a design proposal for a selected library in Gothenburg. I have chosen to enhance the children's section by creating a magical and playful visual identity that aims to attract children to visit the library and encourage them to read more books. The design proposal includes a specially designed library card, an informational sign, animations, and interior designs for the children's section. The visual identity draws inspiration from the enchantment of fairytales, with colors carefully chosen to evoke a sense of magic.
Children section library card
A library card specially designed for the children's section of the library. The card features various creatures emerging in a magical setting of stars and cosmos. The font and colors of the card are a part of the visual identity and is carefully chosen to evoke a sense of playful magic and aim to encourage children to borrow books.
Informational Sign for the Children's Section
The sign aims to be positioned just outside the entrance of the children's section to inform parents and children about what the section offers. It incorporates elements, fonts, and colors that are part of the visual identity of the section.
Design of the Doors and Rooms
The children's section is intended to feature two central rooms for children to explore. One is named "Sagorummet" or "Fairytale Room," designed as a space for children to immerse themselves in reading. This room includes cozy corners for children to read with their parents or on their own. The other room, named "Lekrummet" or "Playroom," is dedicated to children with a need for movement and aims to cultivate a positive atmosphere within the library. The playroom also serves the purpose of ensuring that children who wish to engage in playful activities do not disturb those seeking quiet reading time. The design of both the doors and rooms is integral to the overall visual identity of the children's section.

The design on the pillows draws inspiration from the characters featured on the library card to ensure consistency within the visual identity.
Videos to Assist with Book Borrowing
In the children's section, there will be an option to borrow books using a computer. For children who find the borrowing process challenging, the loaning computer will feature short instructional videos starring two characters demonstrating how to borrow books. These characters will be recurring figures within the children's section and will be integrated into the visual identity. The videos will also incorporate a narrative element to ensure that non-readers or children with visual impairments can follow the instructions. Additionally, the videos will be available in various languages to cater to diverse audiences.
