C4 - Crowdsourcing board games platform

Studies project

Creating a crowd-sourcing platform for board games enthusiats

The aim here was to motivate and enable game lovers to partake in the whole creative process of a board game.
For that we thought of C4. Why the name?

Crowdsourcing
Hunt the best thinkers to create the perfect game

Collaboration
Because you play a game together, you create it together

Community
The more, the merrier

Creativity
The best ideas are the craziest

General idea
This platform enables its user to create a project for a board game in order to gather people and skills to bring it to life. The aim is to give people with ideas the means and vice versa by bringing the community together.

In our idea, sponsors or game editors could also decide to market games that reached a certain level of support within a given amount of time. I won't develop entirely the rest of the idea, but I'd be glad to discuss it if you feel like it.

Enjoy.

Overall remarks
The design is colourful. We're talking about games, having fun and being creative. And there is still some logic behind it : each axis has a colour of its own.

1. A simple header to present the main functions of the platform : discover the community's projects, create your own, and seek help and advices And of course a search bar

2. The "Dice Roll" or "Roll the dice" : it sends you on a random project to discover new games, get inspired, explore the community, etc. Just like a game.

3. User profile, notifications, etc. y'know, the usual.

4. A nice, full width slider to either highlights some functionalities of the website, projects, or events.

5. An advanced search function, offering filters to get content more suited to your tastes.

6. CTAs. Remembering the user what the platform is about. Creating your perfect game(s). And sharing with the community.

7. A selection from the platform's algorhythm. Hopefully providing content that's relevent to you.

8. Two sections, a tad more classic : one shows you the trending projects while the other presents you projects being created near you. Because it's even better to actually see and meet the people you may work with.

Overall remarks
Here the dominant colour is... Yellow!

1. Simple header again.

2. A full width visual is the first element the users see. Can either be a gorgeous picture or a background video (not too long, but let's get this website lively).

3. In this left column lies all the information relative to the project in itself. In order of appearance:
- Tabs to browse all the extra content such as the project, its updates, comments, its supporters, even a gallery!
- A quick overview of the project's information, including the evolution of support it has received.
- Video trailer.
- Social networks share links (x2 in total).
- Description of the project.
- FAQs (CTA to ask your own question if it isn't already answered.

4. In the left column is everything that concerns interacting with the project:
- Join the project. Sends a request as well as your profile to the team if the team is hiring. (see 5.)
- Support the project. Show your love and/or interest in this project and raise its popularity on the platform!
- Follow the project. Allows you to keep track of the project's state.
- Rewards for the people involved in one way or another in the project.
- Suggestions and the "Dice Roll" button.

5. Discover the team behind this amazing project! If you'd like to, check if there is any position : after all collaboration and crowdsourcing are part of this platform's DNA.

6. CTAs. Reminder of the CTAs from the right column above.

Overall remarks
Here the dominant colour is... Greenish blue (Turquoise maybe)

1. Simple header again.

2. Here are the guidelines: dashed stroke fields means the user needs to fill info in. Fields between brackets will be automatically filled in.

3. Full width visual (image or video) and write a short description or catchphrase.

4. Most of the dynamic information is just sitting here to already give the user an overview of the project page. (S)He just needs to fill in the dashed stroke fields.

5. In order to categorize the projects, help supporters find your project, etc. a location and filters are to be picked. And to motivate them, some rewards can be set.

6. In the project description the users are free to organize the content yourself as they see fit. Select the type of content wanted and voilà! When a type of content is selected, editor tools appear around your block of content (see 7.)

7. If you are anticipating questions or want to clarify things, you can anticipate them.

8. Creating the dream team. The creator is automatically added and can add people to its project (invitations are send to these users) or leave open positions for people to join the project. An array of roles is listed and comes with a description, to give an idea of what's expected for each team member.
Video Trailer
And this is it.

As long as it already is, there are some more mockups that were not disclosed as their role may be less important. Depending on the interest this project receives, I may update it some more.
