It's a necessary medium for a super aging society


' COMPANION ' is a product that combines a service robot and a wheelchair, providing convenience for robots to bring simple things or push wheelchairs from behind instead of the elderly with disabilities.

' COMPANION ' 은 노약자 대신 로봇이 간단한 가사노동을 처리하거나 휠체어의 이동을 돕는 등 간병인의 역할을 대체하는 서비스 로봇입니다.​​​​​​​

Problem

By 2025, the population of the elderly aged 70 or older in the Republic of Korea will increase to 20.6%.In addition, due to the increase in single-person households, the dismantling of the traditional family structure may make it difficult for the elderly to receive help from their families.

2025년까지 대한민국의 70세 이상 노인 인구는 20.6%로 증가할 것입니다. 또한 1인 가구의 증가와 전통적인 가족 구조의 해체로 인하여 노약자가 가족의 도움을 받기 어려울 수 있습니다.

Concept

For the elderly who have difficulty in their daily lives, we would like to design a service that replaces the role of caregivers who take things or help them move.

일상생활이 불편한 노약자를 위하여 물건을 대신 가져다 주거나 이동을 돕는 간병인의 역할을 대체하는 서비스를 디자인 하고자 합니다.

​​​​​At the bottom of the robot, a traction connector and a power terminal that can be coupled to a wheelchair are arranged, and headlamps are installed to safely pass through dark spaces. The robot also has an emergency stop button at the back that can stop it.

로봇의 하단부에는 휠체어와 결합할 수 있는 도킹 커넥터와 헤드램프가 있으며, 후면부에는 비상 시 정지할 수 있는 버튼이 있습니다.

로봇은 ' 메카넘 휠 ' 을 이용하여 방향전환을 합니다.

​​​​​This is a charger that allows ' companion ' to be active again. To prevent damage, the contact surface between the robot and the charger was fabricated, and the charger design was naturally connected to the family look with the robot.

' companion ' 이 다시 활동할 수 있게 해주는 충전기 입니다. 파손을 방지하기 위하여 로봇과 충전기가 닿는 접촉면을 패브릭 처리 하였고 충전기 디자인을 로봇과 더불어 자연스럽게 패밀리 룩으로 연결하였습니다.
