Meçhul - Unknown
Styrofoam, metal knife, pedestal, paper, pencil
200 x 100 cm

"Meçhul" is composed of a flat surface made of 4 rectangular foram boards. It consists of 128 fixed knives mounted on the surface along with papers and a pen on a pedestal. The foam surface, with the knives attached to their handles, is hung on the wall and the knives face the viewer. The intended action in this work is the viewer's interaction with the piece. Viewers are expected to write what they desire on the papers and impale them on their chosen knife. Inspired by a witnessed dream, the purpose of this work is to ensure the permanence of the expression that emerges from the instantaneous inward turning process of the knives representing the individual.
The reason for the work to be named "Meçhul" (Unknown) stems from the temporary ambiguity of what the viewers choose to write. The uncertainty of the decision-making process and the selection of the knife on which the paper will be impaled, until the content is determined, is emphasized by the name "Meçhul".
