Nous avions comme mandat la réalisation d'un livre conceptuel qui met de l'avant les textes de Boucar Diouf, humoriste et écrivain québécois.

J'ai été grandement inspiré par des textes qui témoignent de situations plus négatives comme le deuil, la mort, la violence et le trauma intergénérationnel. Je souhaitais mettre de l'avant des parties plus sombres des écrits pour ensuite choisir des textes qui parlent de la sagesse et du pardon afin de créer un livre authentique qui nous transporte du plus laid au plus beau chez l'humain.

Mon approche fut majoritairement illustrative. Chaque chapitre est accompagné d'une grande illustration métaphorique et de plusieurs petits dessins ludiques qui permettent ainsi de comprendre d'avantage ce qui est véhiculé dans les écrits de Boucar Diouf.

We were tasked with the creation of a conceptual book highlighting the writings of Boucar Diouf, a Quebecois humorist and writer.

I drew significant inspiration from texts that dives into more negative aspects such as grief, death, violence, and intergenerational trauma. My intention was to emphasize the darker themes in the writings, and then select texts that speak of wisdom and forgiveness, thus crafting an authentic book that takes us from the ugliest to the most beautiful aspects of human experience.

My approach was predominantly illustrative. Each chapter is accompanied by a large metaphorical illustration and several playful small drawings, enhancing the understanding of the themes conveyed in Boucar Diouf's writings.

Les illustrations suivantes ont étés réalisées à l'aide du logiciel Procreate. J'ai utilisé un pinceau avec un fort grain me permettant de donner un aspect très texturé au dessin.
