Replication of Netflix App and a Feature Suggestion
About Netflix
Netflix is an American subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service. The service primarily distributes original and acquired films and television shows from various genres, and it is available internationally in multiple languages.
Problem
Netflix users currently lack the ability to hide recommended movies they don't wish to see. This became evident to me when I repeatedly encountered a movie in my feed that I didn't enjoy. Curious if others faced the same dilemma, I interviewed friends and colleagues and discovered they too encountered this issue.
Solution
A proposed solution to tackle this issue is the implementation of a "Hide Movie" feature on Netflix. This functionality would enable users to conveniently remove movies they don't wish to see from their recommendations. Users could simply long-press on a movie to hide it or explore similar options. Additionally, within the menu section, users would have access to a list of all the movies they've hidden.
