More than five weeks after the Senate passed SB386, the statewide mobile sports betting bill held its first hearing in the Georgia House of Representatives on Tuesday.

There was no vote in the House Higher Education Committee and the chairman said a vote was not imminent, but there could be more discussion later this week.

Several representatives of daily fantasy companies testified that they wanted their competition to be added to the bill, while several representatives of faith-based and anti-gambling groups testified against it. 안전한 파워볼사이트

The bill allows 16 online sports betting licenses in the state, including eight linked to professional sports franchises or organizations.

Seven more independent licenses would be given along with one allocated for the Georgia lottery. The bill differs slightly from previous proposals and includes a Senate amendment that sends the final decision to voters.

All major professional sports teams in Georgia and Augusta Country Club, PGA Tour and Atlanta Motor Speedway/Nascar are eligible for licenses.

Six years after the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court, Georgia, which now offers some form of live sports betting in more than 35 U.S. jurisdictions, is the largest state seriously considering a betting offer this year.
