I illustrated the movie poster for ‘Past Lives’ on a self-employed basis.
I always noticed the poster every time I passed by a subway station, giving me a hazy but warm feeling, when London was still in summer. I watched this movie out of curiosity, but unfortunately, I didn’t see the ending. I mean I did it on purpose.
In the plot of the movie, after Hae Sung and Nora were separated for more than decades, Hae Sung took the initiative to fly from South Korea to the United States to visit Nora for the first time. They sat under the carousel in the distance and quietly looked at each other. Frankly speaking, I enjoy this scene a lot. Without any line or body language, the narrative and emotions are already overwhelming.
