AVRASYA HOSPITAL ISTANBUL
The face of healthcare industry in Turkey has undergone a major transformation, starting from 2003 onwards. Patients covered by the social security organization began getting service from private hospitals and clinics as well as public healthcare institution, which accelerated the private health sector’s growth during this period. Zoom TPU, an Istanbul based architecture and design office, became one of the first ever practices to prioritize design as well as functionality during these years. They have 40 health facilities worth of prior experience with multiple hospital groups, as well as 5 current projects. Avrasya is the latest project, ZOOM/TPU has completed in August 2016 and is now fully working.

The main initiative with this project was to give Avrasya Group a new identity during a rebranding period. The building’s urban connections, landscape organization and interior planning was based on the necessities of patients, doctors and visitors. The design concept grew from organic forms, rooted deeply within the practice’s futuristic ideals. Several interior elements are made with 3D manufacturing.

The hospital is located in the european side of the city. Within its 30.000 squaremeter area, 94 patient rooms, 44 polyclinics and 7 surgery rooms are combined with social areas and administrative offices.
