ABANDONED SCHOOL WALLPAINTINGS
The twilight sessions
Step into the realm of artistic revival with me as I breathe life into the quiet hallways of an old, charmingly abandoned school complex through six captivating wallpaintings I have made. For some time I have used this school as an atelier for street-art paintings and also to paint on canvas.
With the final strokes of paint gracing the murals, I shifted my focus to capturing their essence in photographs. As twilight descended, I skillfully wielded my camera to immortalize these street art masterpieces. Whether illuminated in the soft glow of natural incoming light or enhanced by available lighting or subtle light painting with a flashlight, each twilight-lit photograph highlights the depth and beauty of these artistic expressions. By doing so I transformed these classical spaces into vibrant realms, embracing each wall as a canvas for creative exploration.
Soon the whole school will be demolished.
Both the murals and the decay of the school and the surrounding nature are being compiled into a photography book.
